Gosport Falcons
Football Club is a well established youth football club situated on
the West side peninsular of Portsmouth Harbour. Founded in 1991,
the club has provided football for both boys and girls of all ages
and abilities from six onwards. The Club currently have 10 teams
ranging from
U8 to U14’s, playing in both Saturday and Sunday Leagues this coming season. At present, we have over
200 members,
made up from Club officials, players and volunteers who are willing to give
their time to help, encourage and develop football within the local
community. It is our aim to have every team coach achieve at least
FA Level One qualification.
Following FA guide-lines, all our officials have gone through the
process of completing and submitting CRB forms to THE FA. As a
club
we abide by the FA Child Protection
Policies and Procedures and have in place a Child Welfare
Officer who has completed the appropriate course/s with Hampshire
FA.
Gosport
Falcons has in place an elected Committee who, with the members and
parents, have the responsibility for the management of all affairs of
the club. We have a constitution, rules and codes of conduct which
we would expect all our officials, members, parents and spectators to
adhere too and abide with the FA Code
of Conduct and the Equal Opportunities and Anti-discrimination
Policy.
Gosport Falcons is affiliated with Hampshire Football
Association and have teams that play in the Mid-Solent League on
Saturdays and the Portsmouth Youth Football League on a
Sunday's, a League which celebrated its Centenary in 2006.
With no home ground of our own at present, the
club relies on local establishments for the use of pitches
and training facilities. Our older teams usually play their home
games on the sports field of H.M.S Sultan, known as the
'Polo-fields', which is situated between Grange Road and Military
Road in Gosport. We have also started to use the facilities at
Brune Park Collage, also in Military Road. The Falcons 'Mini-Soccer' teams usually play their
home
matches at ‘Monckton’, another naval sports field which is situated
close to Haslar Hospital in Gosport.
